Dutch researchers under the leadership of Dr. Yvonne T. van der Schouw, Ph.D., recently found that moderate consumption of coffee and tea may reduce the risk of developing heart disease. In this study followed the 37.514 people over a period of 13 years. An important element that explains the study is that there is no precise information about the type of tea consumed by the population of the study. However, according to sales records in the Netherlands tea, black tea retains the 78% of sales in this country. And another fact is that 80% of the Dutch consume filtered coffee.
This study, published in the Journal of the American Heart Association, Tava Tea found that those consuming more than 6 cups of tea a day were 36% less likely to develop heart problems, compared with those consuming less than one cup a day . People who drink three to six cups of tea, have a 45% less likely to die from heart problems.
Coffee drinkers are wondering if they also get benefits of eating this delicious drink. The answer is yes. People who consume two to four cups a day are 20% less likely to suffer heart problems. In recent years we have conducted over 19,000 studies examining the impact of coffee on health. Besides the results of the study mentioned above, other scientists have found several benefits of coffee in relation to reducing colon cancer, gallstones, cirrhosis of the liver and Parkinson’s.
